Job Summary: Participates in planning, coordination, development, implementation, and maintenance activities related to data reporting, data mining, and data analysis. Collaborates with clinicians and system end users to design, build, implement, document, evaluate, and maintain Epic data reporting tools and integrated components. Utilizes a knowledge of structured query language (SQL) and other data analytical tools to build and maintain reporting user interfaces (e.g., alerts, prompts, screens, dashboards, templates, reports and data extracts). Analyzes and understand business problems; recommends solutions meeting organizational, clinical, and business systems reporting goals. Supports a secure, effective, integrated patient care delivery reporting platform that improves outcomes, reduces cost, increases efficiency, and enhances patients’ experiences continually.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, IT management, software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems (IS), applied engineering, health information management (HIM), health informatics, nursing informatics, nursing, health science, education, business administration, health care, or a related field.
  • Human Resources (HR) may accept directly related work experience on a 1-year:1-year basis for required education.
  • Two (2) years of directly related professional experience
  • Communication skills (critical).
  • Complex problem-solving skills (critical).
  • Related Epic certification(s) required. Multiple certifications may be required depending on functional area and job responsibilities. Required certification(s) must be obtained within ninety (90) days from last class completion.
  • If a required certification is not obtained after three (3) examination attempts, the incumbent has a period of thirty (30) days after the last examination attempt to apply for other job opportunities within the organization.
  • If unable to acquire another position within the organization, the incumbent’s employment with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Inc. (TMH) ends.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with one or more of Epic’s Cogito reporting modules, including Clarity, Caboodle, Chronicles.
  • Experience with SQL-like language.
  • Journeyman knowledge of SQL programming and data extraction methodologies.
  • Knowledge of report development best practices.
  • Understanding of relational database management system (RDBMS) concepts.
  • Familiarity with hospital workflows.
  • Familiar with programming languages, data modeling standards, and data structures.
  • Proficient in at least one of the following: Python, C#, Visual Basic, or other object-oriented programming language.
  • Ability to analyze/understand business problems and recommend solutions.
