About The Position

ASSYST is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst with strong Technical Writing expertise to support a client project in Tallahassee, FL. This is a hybrid role. The selected candidate will be responsible for requirements analysis, process mapping, technical documentation, and stakeholder collaboration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst
  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing/documentation
  • Strong expertise in requirements gathering, business analysis, and process modeling
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies
  • Proficiency in: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in: Microsoft Visio (process mapping)
  • Experience writing: BRD, FRD, user stories, use cases, SOPs
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with meeting facilitation and documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau (data visualization)
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or R for data analysis
  • Familiarity with JIRA, MS Project, Trello
  • Certifications: CBAP, PMI-PBA
  • Experience with ERP systems and enterprise applications
  • Exposure to government/public sector projects
  • Knowledge of SDLC processes and IT standards

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements (BRD, FRD, user stories)
  • Conduct requirements elicitation sessions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews
  • Develop As-Is / To-Be process flows, use cases, and process maps (Visio)
  • Perform gap analysis, impact analysis, and business process re-engineering
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, user manuals, and system guides
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation
  • Maintain documentation repositories, version control, and content lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with PMO standards and regulatory requirements
  • Review and edit technical documents, design specifications, and system artifacts
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of all documentation
  • Work with SMEs to validate requirements and documentation quality
  • Act as a liaison between business and IT teams
  • Facilitate meetings, sprint sessions, and stakeholder discussions
  • Prepare status reports, executive briefings, and project documentation
  • Support project planning, coordination, and delivery
