About The Position

AWG is in search of the best IT Business Analysts to support our strategic, business-transforming projects in Information Technology Service and Support. This role assists with the prioritization of needs and serves as a liaison between AWG employees, vendors and retailers that use AWG’s existing Retail, Store Ordering and Ad Planning application systems to maintain stability. This role will work closely with leadership and internal customers as we continue to reshape our application portfolio using business process understanding, appreciation for simplicity and quality, critical thinking, and determination to craft solutions that exceed business and technology objectives. The IT Business Analyst will be part of a team that is responsible primarily for maintaining and supporting a wide variety of solutions with the assistance of other teams within the IT organization. In this role, you will “know the business better than the business” through a diligence of learning and documentation of functional business processes and requirements combined with an in-depth knowledge of the systems being used.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience of IT Business Analyst or related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT related Field or relevant work experience.
  • Recognizes priority/impact of issues, excellent business communication skillset, detail oriented, communication skills, strong planning & organization skills/mindset, excellent writing skills, facilitation skills/ problem solving, process / modeling skills, deals with ambiguity naturally, ability to build partnership/comfort w/ stakeholders (have a stronger propensity for these skills), proactive/forecasting (can identify issues/challenges/timelines), direct conflict resolution
  • Experience providing excellent oral and written communication to a diverse audience.
  • Experience as a support analyst working with retail systems (troubleshooting, data analysis and maintaining system integrity). Strong data and business process modeling skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and highly organized.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working as a quality analyst on projects (Writing test plans and/or test cases)
  • Experience working as a business analyst in full SDLC for software projects.
  • Experience creating swim lane process diagrams and structured, clear requirements documentation methods, via tools like Visio.
  • Retail Pricing, or relevant retail business and systems experience OR Experience in retail, supply chain, distribution, or grocery industry preferred
  • Experience using SQL is a bonus.
  • Experience using Google AI tools

Responsibilities

  • Business Analysis (10%)
  • Elicit and translate business requirements via requirements gathering sessions and documents business requirements using appropriate formats for assigned initiatives/projects, quality improvements, service enhancements, cost reductions, and productivity increases.
  • Conduct research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside the business unit, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible. Provides research/analysis support for system issues or outages.
  • Leverage existing business process knowledge to efficiently structure and facilitate design sessions with cross functional stakeholders; professionally probe and challenge for end-to-end business process efficiency and integration.
  • Documentation (35%)
  • Create business requirements documents, sequence diagrams, process diagrams and other related documentation to ensure project continuity and success.
  • Develop use cases/stories to explain/demonstrate business requirements/specifications to IT and business stakeholders and incorporate business partner’s perspective during design reviews.
  • Partner with business and change management leads to ensure structured, accurate training and communication materials are available to support business adoption of solutions and processes.
  • Communication/Team Dynamics (25%)
  • Communicate priorities to the technology organization to drive effective business solutions.
  • Ensure consensus and decision alignment / progress among stakeholders and project team members.
  • Provide input to the development of formal business cases when enterprise-wide business solutions are proposed.
  • Build and manage strong relationships within the user community and IT.
  • Testing, Evaluation and Training (20%)
  • Lead test plan and test script development, as well as test execution activities.
  • Translate business requirements and processes into application usage and configuration.
  • Train the business community when necessary.
  • Strategy and Vision (10%)
  • Help shape the vision of longer-term business requirements and business initiatives.
  • Drive the development of efficient, end-to end, cross functional processes and documentation.
  • Analyze the impact of proposed solutions across the business and application landscape.
