About The Position

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a senior cloud application developer to build and support services to be shared by multiple teams and projects across the Department. This position will contribute to DHHS IT program objectives while promoting and supporting enterprise reuse of components. The position will plan, analyze, design, and develop various Spring Boot microservices in the Azure cloud environment. The developer will also contribute to front-end React applications that consume those services as needed. This position will help design, build, and maintain the cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines which support these microservices. This is a full-time, on-site permanent position. It is not available as a contracted position. The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services does not sponsor or transfer non-immigrant work visas for this position or accept STEM OPT (form i-983) at any time.

Requirements

Experience, education, or training in coding computer applications.

Nice To Haves

Experience working on small to medium sized projects.
Associates degree or equivalent experience.
Experience using Java, Spring Boot, REST API, HTML/CSS/JavaScript.

Responsibilities

Assist senior developers while consulting with clients on Java React development projects.
Use application development tools and utilities and appropriate.
Write, debug, test, and document programs in Java React.
Perform the functional and technical design and implementation in a large-scale IT environment including consideration of existing automated systems with considerable supervision.
Software development activities; including requirements gathering, analysis, functional and technical design, construction and testing, implementation, and production support.
Work closely with business analysts, other technical analysts, managers, and business sponsors.
