About The Position

North 40 Outfitters in Great Falls, MT is looking to hire a Full-Time IT Application Developer to join our team. As an IT Application Developer at North 40, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable, and high-performing applications across our core business systems, including inventory, e-commerce, POS, and ERP platforms. This role takes business ideas and concepts and turns them into dynamic, interactive applications by delivering technical expertise, seamless integrations, and reliable solutions that support operational efficiency and drive business growth. You will work closely with cross-functional business partners, IT team members, and third-party service providers to analyze requirements, design solutions, and ensure applications meet performance, security, and compliance standards. This full-time, exempt position requires availability to work all scheduled shifts during business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional after-hours support, on-call responsibilities, and limited travel may be required. This schedule may vary based on business needs and may include evenings, weekends, or holidays as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain custom applications and integrations for SaaS and on-premise systems
  • Build and enhance applications supporting inventory, e-commerce, POS, ERP, and other core business platforms
  • Develop custom web applications, APIs, reports, and system integrations to meet business needs
  • Translate business ideas and high-level requirements into secure, scalable, and high-performing technical solutions
  • Analyze business, technical, infrastructure, and architectural requirements to identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities
  • Create technical design and system architecture documentation for custom applications, integrations, and platform enhancements
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-structured code following development best practices and internal coding standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve code efficiency, optimize database queries, and streamline application structure
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business stakeholders, IT team members, and third-party providers to deliver integrated solutions
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support application deployments and maintain production systems using automation, CLI tools, and shell scripting
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve application and integration issues while ensuring reliability, performance, and observability
  • Maintain data confidentiality and comply with IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Continuously learn and apply emerging technologies, tools, and best practices to improve development and operational outcomes
