A growing, Houston-based professional services firm, G&A Partners is currently seeking an IT Application Analyst to join its team with the ability to work 100% remote. Summary: The IT Application Analyst plays a crucial role in managing, supporting, and optimizing software applications for the organization. This role serves as a key resource in troubleshooting and resolving application issues, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and ensuring seamless project execution. The IT Application Analyst will collaborate closely with internal teams, vendors, and clients to manage application-related projects from start to finish, providing clear communication, timely completion, and documentation of project history. This role requires a highly analytical and detail-oriented IT Application Analyst with a deeper technical knowledge than a standard support specialist, yet slightly less than a full-scale technology implementation business analyst. You will be responsible for investigating application issues, managing project timelines, and ensuring comprehensive communication with all stakeholders.   • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex application issues through detailed root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Audit historical project changes, run reports, and document findings to understand what led to an issue.
  • Develop, document, and communicate project timelines and plans with both internal managers and client contacts.
  • Manage projects related to application troubleshooting, enhancements, and fixes from start to finish.
  • Ensure projects are executed within scope, on time, and with proper documentation.
  • Monitor progress and ensure timely follow-through on communication and project completion with clients and internal teams.
  • Generate reports and analyze data to audit application issues and project impacts.
  • Provide insights on system performance and recommend optimizations.
  • Identify trends and propose proactive solutions to mitigate recurring system issues.
  • Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) for system changes and updates.
  • Prioritize workload effectively to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Serve as a key liaison between TLM Admin, IT Support, and IT Implementation teams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborates with Admin Business Analyst and Manager to identify system issues and bugs for analysis/correction by the software development team.
  • Possesses the ability to analyze and communicate a comprehensive understanding of the problem from both user and product admin perspectives.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for company applications.
  • Gains and maintains deep technical expertise across G&A suite of applications.
  • Applies application changes to production environment.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience working in an applications analyst role or similar capacity. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively even when under pressure.
  • Ability to anticipate upcoming issues and work out potential solutions in advance.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects efficiently while balancing competing demands.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to quickly assess and respond to client needs with a sense of urgency.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and work cross-functionally.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in small team settings.
  • Microsoft Outlook (Managing emails, scheduling meetings, and coordinating tasks) is required.
  • Microsoft Teams (Collaboration and virtual meetings) is required.
  • Basic Excel data analysis (sorting, filtering, and summarizing HR/payroll data) is required.
  • Experience with HCM & payroll platforms (e.g., UKG, Workday, ADP, Paylocity, Paycom, Dayforce ) is required.
  • Understanding of PEO workflows , including co-employment and multi-client environments is required.
  • Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas for data analysis) is preferred.
  • Microsoft Word (Creating reports, policy documents, and client communications) is preferred.
  • Using SharePoint, Google Drive, or OneDrive to store and manage HR/payroll documents is preferred.
  • Data extraction and transformation for compliance, audits, and custom reports is preferred.
  • Understanding of SOC 1/SOC 2 compliance and data security best practices is preferred.
  • Understanding of APIs, SFTP, and middleware solutions (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Workato) for data exchanges is preferred.
  • Understanding of SSO (Single Sign-On), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) , and data encryption is preferred.
  • Familiarity with VPNs and secure remote access for HR and payroll teams is preferred.
