This job is on the Mainframe z/OS systems team and will serve the support and maintenance of the mainframe operating system serving the development and applications support of the State of Nebraska agencies. Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Computer Science/IT and one year experience in a related area such as working with coding computer applications relational databases related business/technical experience involving application programming, software installation and maintenance, systems programming and online programming work.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the on-boarding and off-boarding of SoN mainframe users.
  • Work with the DMV and other agencies with setting up and maintaining connectivity with their state-wide sites.
  • Assist in the review and validation of changes within the regular mainframe maintenance processes.
  • Work with our mainframe support vendor in the correct routing of service, incident and change requests and assist when required of maintaining communication between the vendor and our agencies.
  • Assist in the design of a disaster recovery test environment.
  • Other duties as assigned and within the scope of the classification.
  • Work with our services support vendor in the monitoring and utilization of our storage volumes, both DASD and tape.
  • Regular and reliable attendance required.
