The City of San Bernardino is seeking an IT Analyst I/II to join its Information Technology Department, specifically serving the Police Department. This role involves designing, developing, modifying, and maintaining city systems and applications, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues related to hardware and software. The IT Analyst I focuses on routine tasks, while the IT Analyst II handles more complex systems requiring advanced skills and knowledge of city operations.   • Design, develop, modify, and maintain City systems, programs, and applications.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve routine to moderately difficult issues with systems, applications, hardware, and software.
  • Perform routine tasks in developing, modifying, installing, and maintaining City systems and applications (IT Analyst I).
  • Take on advanced systems design and development for complex systems (IT Analyst II).
  • Provide customer service to City employees by responding to IT support tickets.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or a closely related field.
  • For IT Analyst I: At least two years of responsible experience in the development, installation, and maintenance of computer applications.
  • For IT Analyst II: At least four years of responsible experience in the development, installation, and maintenance of computer applications or two years' experience as an IT Analyst I (FLEX).
  • Valid California driver's license.
  • Experience with Windows Suite, PC, phone systems, and video systems.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Attention to detail in analyzing and documenting system requirements and solutions.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate complex systems and processes.
