About The Position

At Centrus Energy, cybersecurity isn’t just an IT function—it’s a mission-critical safeguard for national security. As an ISSO Administrator, you’ll be on the front lines of protecting classified information systems that support advanced nuclear operations. You’ll help ensure our IT and OT environments stay secure, compliant, and resilient by translating complex security requirements into daily operational excellence—all while working alongside cybersecurity, engineering, and classified systems experts. You’ll maintain the security posture of classified IT and operational technology systems by implementing and enforcing information system security policies, standards, and controls. From performing risk assessments and managing system changes to supporting security authorizations and continuous monitoring, you’ll ensure systems meet NIST 800-53/800-82 and NRC requirements. You’ll help evaluate security solutions, manage configuration changes, support incident recovery, and prepare critical documentation like System Security Plans (SSPs)—keeping Centrus’ classified environments secure, auditable, and mission-ready.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, 800-82, 800-37, 800-30, and related risk management frameworks
  • Security plus certification
  • Experience implementing hardware and software security controls
  • Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure environments, including servers, operating systems, and network protocols
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document and communicate security requirements clearly
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” Clearance.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • This position will require a pre­-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
  • Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made.
  • Once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government.
  • Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
