About The Position

The IS Support Specialist uses their specialized knowledge and skills to provide technical support to end-users within the organization. This position requires an independent thinker who enjoys challenges and thrives on promptly resolving a myriad of computer problems in a courteous and professional manner. This is an on-site position.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field or substantial and equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in IT preferred.
  • Knowledge with Windows, Linux, iOS, MacOS, Android, and IBMi
  • LAN, WAN Networking experience.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server and Windows Server.
  • Ability to lift, move, and relocate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely go out and perform support tasks on the shop floor on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to participate in on-call rotation and work after hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Microsoft Office 365 administrative experience is a plus.
  • Certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and respond to IT service requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that users receive assistance quickly and systems are restored to full functionality.
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing and ensuring proper installation, integration and functionality of hardware, software, phones, and peripheral devices.
  • Work closely with users to identify unique technical needs, particularly for specialized or non-standard computing devices, and document these requirements for future reference and troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot multifunction printers, copiers, scanners, label printers and other peripheral devices.
  • Coordinate efforts between the organization and external vendors to diagnose and address hardware, software or system malfunctions.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues by utilizing troubleshooting techniques and problem-solving skills to minimize system downtime.
  • Keep accurate records of all hardware and software assets, ensuring that inventory data is always up to date to facilitate easy tracking and management.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements and trends in Information Technology to ensure the organization’s systems are using up- to-date and secure solutions.
