About The Position

The Irrigation Manager will oversee the planning, installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for both residential and commercial projects. This role involves managing a team of irrigation technicians, ensuring high standards of work, and optimizing irrigation solutions to meet client needs and sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a passion for creating efficient and effective irrigation systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in irrigation system design, installation, and management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in irrigation system design software and understanding water conservation principles.
  • Extensive knowledge of irrigation technologies, techniques, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with local water regulations and industry standards.
  • Experience with irrigation system controllers, sensors, and water management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Irrigation Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Irrigation Designer or Certified Irrigation Contractor) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Irrigation System Management: Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of irrigation systems, including sprinkler systems, drip irrigation, and smart irrigation technologies.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and manage a team of irrigation technicians, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
  • Project Planning: Collaborate with landscape designers and project managers to develop irrigation plans that meet project specifications and client requirements. Ensure that all systems are installed and operational according to design plans.
  • System Optimization: Monitor and evaluate the performance of irrigation systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Implement improvements and adjustments as needed to enhance water conservation and system performance.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Oversee routine maintenance and emergency repairs of irrigation systems. Troubleshoot issues and coordinate timely repairs to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
  • Client Relations: Interact with clients to discuss their irrigation needs, provide recommendations, and address any concerns. Ensure that all client interactions are handled professionally and to their satisfaction.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for irrigation projects, including estimating costs, tracking expenses, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all irrigation work complies with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Promote and enforce safety practices on job sites.
