About The Position

The Irrigation Divisional Manager is a senior leadership position responsible for the daily operations, strategic planning, and financial performance of the irrigation department. You will bridge the gap between sales and field execution, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest industry standards. Your primary goal is to scale the division by optimizing workflows, mentoring a team of technicians, and maintaining excellent relationships with our client base.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years in the irrigation industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity. Hands-on installation experience is required.
  • Technical Expertise: Mastery of commercial and residential irrigation systems, including backflow prevention, two-wire systems, and pump stations.
  • Licensing: Must possess (or be able to obtain) relevant Kansas/Missouri irrigation licenses and backflow certification.
  • Business Acumen: Proficiency in CRM and scheduling software (e.g., Aspire, LMN, or Jobber) and a solid understanding of job costing.
  • Leadership Style: A "player-coach" mentality. You are comfortable in the office but willing to get your hands dirty in the field when the team needs support.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with property managers, HOAs, and residential homeowners.
  • Valid Driver’s License: A clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Manage the daily scheduling and dispatching of service technicians and install crews to maximize efficiency and billable hours. This will include 50% hands on installation as well as 50% managing operations until growth warrants a shift in duties.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site visits to audit work quality, ensure safety compliance, and provide technical troubleshooting for complex hydraulic or electrical issues.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the division's P&L (Profit and Loss). This includes inventory management, labor cost control, and assisting with accurate estimating for large bids.
  • Team Development: Recruit, hire, and train irrigation professionals. You will foster a culture of continuous learning regarding the latest smart-watering technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi controllers, high-efficiency nozzles).
  • Client Relations: Act as the technical point of contact for high-value clients, providing professional consultations on water conservation and system upgrades.
  • Inventory & Fleet: Oversee the procurement of parts and equipment, ensuring service vans are fully stocked and well-maintained to minimize downtime.
