About The Position

What You’ll Be Doing - Core Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & As-Needed Clinical Support The IR Nurse Supervisor is clinically competent and expected to step in when required, including to: Provide IR sedation nursing support during staffing gaps, high-acuity cases, or surges in volume Assist with patient assessments, moderate sedation, and intra-procedural monitoring as needed Support room turnover, documentation completion, or patient flow during operational bottlenecks Reinforce clinical standards through real-time coaching and presence Clinical participation is situational and responsive, not scheduled. The primary expectation is oversight and leadership, not routine assignment. Clinical gaps, safety concerns, or deviations from standard are expected to be addressed immediately, not deferred. Supervisory & Leadership Responsibilities Daily Operational Ownership Maintain oversight of daily patient flow, staffing, and case execution Anticipate operational risks and intervene early to prevent delays or safety issues Serve as the escalation point for clinical and operational challenges Ensure that issues are resolved in the moment or escalated appropriately with solutions Own materials and supply readiness, including proactive monitoring of procedure-specific supplies, medications, and equipment to ensure availability, prevent case delays, and avoid last-minute shortages; partner with leadership and vendors as needed to address gaps The Supervisor is accountable for how the day runs, not just their individual tasks. Staffing, Coverage & Real-Time Decision-Making Adjust staffing assignments in response to call-offs, acuity changes, or case volume Step into clinical coverage when needed to maintain safe operations Balance hands-on support with supervisory oversight to avoid operational blind spots Partner with leadership on staffing trends while owning day-of execution Team Leadership & Performance Expectations Set and reinforce clear performance, professionalism, and conduct standards Provide immediate feedback and coaching when expectations are not met Participate in evaluations, peer reviews, and competency validation Identify emerging performance concerns and address them proactively The IR Nurse Supervisor leads through presence, judgment, and action, not constant bedside assignment. Collaboration & Leadership Partnership Partner with Practice Management and IR Centers Leadership on operational alignment Provide timely communication regarding risks, trends, and opportunities Participate in leadership meetings with a solutions-oriented mindset Quality, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and COUG clinical standards Support quality initiatives and corrective actions as needed Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement Reporting Structure & Leadership Cadence Reports directly to the Practice Office Manager and IR Centers Leadership Participates in a standing monthly leadership cadence with the IR Centers Clinical Nurse Manager for alignment, coaching, and accountability

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IR, procedural nursing, or moderate sedation preferred
  • Prior charge nurse or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through complexity and make sound real-time decisions
