About The Position

Corewell Health is offering up to a $7,000 sign-on bonus to external hires and internal new grads currently in a student role. About Corewell Health Wayne Hospital Corewell Health Wayne Hospital opened its doors to western Wayne communities in 1957. This full-service hospital is the only hospital in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III Trauma Center. The hospital has a longstanding partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a wide variety of health and communicable disease concerns including mass trauma and emergency patients. Scope of work Under general supervision, the Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.

Requirements

  • Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
  • Cath Lab/EP Lab requires employee to be a graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program, associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education.
  • Clinical experience required through graduation of one of the above listed programs.
  • 1 year of experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR is required.
  • IR requires BLS certification and active RT status upon hire, RT-CV or VI within 2 years of hire.
  • Cath Lab requires BLS upon hire and ACLS within time frame identified by each individual site with a maximum of 6 months.
  • Registered RCES/RCIS/RT certification, and IABP certification.
  • EP Lab requires BLS upon hire and ACLS within time frame identified by each individual site with a maximum of 6 months.
  • Registered RCIS/RCES.
