BASIC FUNCTION Works under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional and provides support in implementing and measuring infection prevention and control practices for the organization to include employee health and compliance. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Implement, measure, and maintain organizational systems related to infection prevention and control practice to include employee health processes in accordance with regulatory requirements, state and federal laws and guidelines, and evidence-based standards of practice. Support implementation of infection control policies and procedures, including monitoring and adherence. Responsible for collecting and reporting data related to employee health measures. Maintains and ensures confidentiality of patient and employee health information Monitors employee work-related illness and injury trends and implements strategies to prevent work-acquired injury or illness and expedite return to work. Assists and implements bloodborne pathogen exposure processes, standard treatment and follow up Participates in preventative screening programs (e.g., TB skin testing, influenza, hepatitis B, MMR, varicella, and other appropriate immunizations) and surveillance programs designed to identify and monitor risks to the employee’s health. Identifies and refers employees with personal health needs to personal primary care providers when appropriate. Administrator for employee health software system. Adheres to state, federal and regulatory guidelines to include health, safety, and infection control standards. Hazards are identified and minimized. Variances are reported per policy. Initiates appropriate emergency measures when applicable. Direct and indirect support in the delivery of care Provides safe, competent, and efficient care via protocols and clinical directives. Safely administers and appropriately documents immunizations and TB skin tests given to HealthPoint employees per protocol. Completes diagnostic test/referrals as ordered. Performs clinical laboratory following industry and quality control requirements to the highest standard including Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Quality Improvement to maintain acceptable CLIA waived testing performance. Includes integrity of specimen collection processes and ensure processing and handling of specimens are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. Arrange outside referral appointments and provides instruction under the direction of the clinician when appropriate. Certified medical personnel (RMA/CMA, etc.) must function under the direct supervision of a physician, Registered Nurse, or Advanced Practice Provider. This role is a supportive one and does not involve making independent decisions regarding infection control or employee health practices.
