Lewis Rice LLC, a large St. Louis law firm, has an opening for an IP Patent Paralegal. This position requires an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience. A minimum of five years of relevant experience and a Paralegal certificate is preferred. The hours of this position are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position offers an excellent salary commensurate with experience and an excellent comprehensive benefits package including major medical plans, 401(k) plan, and paid parking. This position may be fully remote for a highly qualified candidate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting attorneys with all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution and maintenance, including preparing and filing of responses to notices of missing parts and notices to correct, submission of formal drawings, restriction requirements and office actions, preparation of formal documents, terminal disclaimers and notices of appeal. and payment of issue fees and patent maintenance fees and foreign annuities Preparation and filing of U.S., PCT and Hague design applications and all associated documents Preparation of client reporting letters and reminders Direct correspondence with clients and foreign associates regarding case deadlines and instructions Preparation and filing of Information Disclosure Statements Proactive review of docketing records and reports to monitor case deadlines and reminders Preparation and filing of copyright applications Registration and renewal of domain name registrations Provide back-up assistance to other department paralegals as needed Assist with due diligence searches and recordation of security agreements and releases Assist with other special projects and administrative tasks as needed Education and Experience Requirements: This position requires an undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities A minimum of five years of relevant experience and a Paralegal certificate is preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Experience with Windows 11, Microsoft Office 365, time entry, and document management systems Experience with IP docketing software (Anaqua preferred) Organizational, time management and prioritization skills required Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Problem solve and exercise good judgment in taking initiative to ask for direction or clarification when appropriate Ability to utilize technology resources to support clients and attorneys Ability to work independently and on a team Build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with IP department attorneys, paralegals and staff
