The IONM Clinical Systems Lead of the Clinical Neurophysiology Services Department reports to the Senior Manager of the IONM Services. The IONM Clinical Systems Lead records by means of electronic equipment, neurophysiologic potentials for the diagnosis and prognosis of diseases and conditions involving the nervous system. The IONM Clinical Systems Lead must demonstrate competence and work under indirect supervision and IONM Coordinator or physician must be immediately available for assistance during all procedures. Under general supervision, the IONM Clinical Systems Lead records by means of electronic equipment, neurophysiologic recordings for the diagnosis of diseases and conditions involving the nervous system. The IONM Clinical Systems Lead must demonstrate competence and work under indirect supervision (An IONM Specialist II would need an IONM Specialist III or higher or a physician immediately available for assistance) during all procedures. This role requires the independent and efficient performance of IONM studies and supports the Clinical Neurophysiology Services department, ICCE, and Medical Center goals. Goals pertaining to this role include equipment maintenance, repair, instruction of users, education on technical barriers through different avenues, and assurance of patient equipment safety. The IONM Clinical Systems Lead coordinates with Information Solutions (IS), Bio-med, and external vendors for medical device optimization. This position collaborates with department leaders, Information Solutions (IS), external vendors, and Bio-med to ensure the successful implementation, repair, and effectiveness of hardware, software, and network compatibility. Leads the IONM BIOMED/IS committee, identifying technical barriers and trends, investigating new practices to present to their peers, and serves as a preceptor for the unit.
