About The Position

The Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Senior Manager for Clinical Neurophysiology Services reports to the Director of Clinical Neurophysiology Services and is responsible for leading and overseeing 24/7 IONM operations across both adult and pediatric services. This role provides direct leadership to IONM Specialist staff while partnering closely with the Medical Director and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, efficient, and compliant neurophysiologic monitoring services. The IONM Senior Manager plays a critical role in advancing departmental, ICCE, and Medical Center goals, including clinical excellence, operational performance, and accreditation standards. The Clinical Neurophysiology Services team supports a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical and diagnostic environment, delivering critical intraoperative monitoring services that directly impact patient safety and outcomes. This role is key to maintaining operational excellence while advancing the future of neurophysiology services at MUSC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in neurophysiology or IONM
  • At least 3 years of leadership or management experience
  • CNIM (Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring) required
  • Certification in one or more neurodiagnostic registries (e.g., EEG, R. EP T., R. NCS T.) or relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of daily IONM operations across all service lines (adult and pediatric)
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop IONM Specialist staff, ensuring high performance and clinical competency
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and leadership to achieve clinical quality, operational, and financial goals
  • Ensure compliance with ABRET IONM Lab accreditation standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support staffing models, scheduling, and 24/7 operational coverage
  • Partner with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and procedural efficiency
  • Participate in and support neurophysiologic monitoring procedures as needed using advanced electronic equipment
  • Ensure appropriate physician availability or support during all procedures
