About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Investment Grade Corporate Bond Trader to join our team. This senior-level role is pivotal in managing a significant trading book, driving revenue, and shaping our client franchise. You will be a key player in a dynamic team, responsible for managing risk within our established framework while actively contributing to the growth and success of our sales and trading operations.

Requirements

  • Experience: 15+ years of experience managing a successful trading book, with a strong focus on Investment Grade Corporate Bonds.
  • Product Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of IG corporate bond products, market micro-structure, and client dynamics.
  • Track Record: A proven history of generating revenue, managing risk effectively, and building a client franchise.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced analytical, quantitative, and numerical competency. Deep knowledge of Bloomberg, electronic trading protocols, and internal booking systems.
  • Communication: Consistently demonstrates clear, concise, and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Licensing: Must hold all required registrations and licenses for the role, or have the ability to obtain them promptly.

Responsibilities

  • Trading & P&L Management: Actively manage an Investment Grade Corporate Bond trading book to achieve and exceed revenue targets. Price and execute trades with precision, providing essential liquidity to our institutional clients. Develop and implement sophisticated trading strategies based on in-depth market analysis and anticipated client demand. Diligently manage the risk profile of the trading book in line with the firm's overall risk framework.
  • Franchise Building & Client Relationships: Build, maintain, and nurture strong relationships with key clients to grow the business and establish a market-leading franchise. Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for facilitating large, complex client trades. Anticipate client needs and market trends to proactively identify trading opportunities.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner effectively with Sales, Research, Capital Markets (CM), and other key stakeholders across the firm to deliver integrated solutions for clients. Mentor and guide junior traders, fostering their professional development and contributing to the team's long-term success.
  • Governance, Risk & Control: Champion a culture of responsible finance, sound governance, and uncompromising ethics. Ensure all trading activities strictly adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct, internal policies, and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Work in close partnership with control functions (Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit) to maintain a robust and transparent control infrastructure. Apply sound ethical judgment and appropriately assess the risk/reward of all business decisions, always protecting the firm's reputation, its clients, and its assets.
