About The Position

The Controller will oversee financial operations for one of our multi‑faceted client locations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong business acumen, a high level of professionalism, and the ability to build effective working relationships across the organization. This role requires a detail‑oriented individual with a proven background in financial reporting, cash management, and operational accounting.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue control, financial reporting, and cash‑handling responsibilities, including at least 3 years in a similar role
  • Accounting experience within the foodservice or retail industry required; foodservice operations experience is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with sales analysis and financial reporting
  • Strong ability to plan, organize, and manage complex processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective working relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel; POS system experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities
  • The use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
  • The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
  • The use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure compliance with all cash‑handling procedures
  • Perform reconciliation and analysis for multiple balance sheet accounts
  • Analyze financial results for internal leadership and external stakeholders
  • Manage monthly profit and loss activity and balance sheet performance
  • Develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Review general ledger activity and ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Research and resolve accounting and reconciliation discrepancies
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation and distribution of required documentation
  • Maintain inventory controls and cost‑management procedures
  • Oversee payroll processing and support Human Resources administrative functions
  • Perform additional duties and special projects assigned
