About The Position

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting Wall Street Prep instructors while inspiring and mentoring some of the brightest minds entering the finance industry. This role combines technical finance exposure with hands-on teaching, client interaction, and professional development. Teaching Assistants support full-day training programs for investment banking and private equity clients, both virtually and on-site, and work closely with lead instructors to ensure a high-quality classroom experience. This position is ideal for finance professionals with 1–2+ years of experience who enjoy teaching, working with people, and deepening their own technical and presentation skills.

Requirements

  • 1–2+ years of experience in investment banking or related fields, such as: Private Equity Equity Research Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Investment Management or similar roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in accounting, financial modeling, and Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Genuine interest in teaching and mentoring, with a strong ability to engage and interact with others
  • Professional, client-facing demeanor and attention to detail
  • Lives in the United States (New York City preferred)
  • Available June through August/September, with high availability during the first two weeks of June
  • Flexible to support training sessions Monday–Friday during normal business hours
  • Ability to be on-site at client locations for extended training programs

Responsibilities

  • Assist in virtual and in-person training sessions delivered to investment banking and private equity clients, including intern and analyst programs
  • Support students as they complete financial modeling and valuation exercises, including: 3-Statement Financial Modeling Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) Analysis Comparable Company Analysis (Comps) Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Leveraged Buyout (LBO) Modeling
  • Provide real-time guidance and answer student questions during training sessions
  • Grade assignments and deliver clear, constructive feedback
  • Assist lead instructors with classroom logistics and overall session flow
  • Travel to client sites and support full-day seminars for 1–3 weeks at a time, as needed
