About The Position

We are currently seeking an Investment Analyst Intern in our Chicago office. This internship provides hands-on exposure to the investment process and offers the opportunity to work closely with senior team members on active opportunities and portfolio-related initiatives. The Investment Analyst Intern will support financial analysis, market research, due diligence, and investment committee materials, while gaining practical experience in private equity/venture capital underwriting and transaction execution. This role is designed for rising juniors who are interested in private equity, venture capital, and finance and who want to build a strong foundation in analytical and deal execution skills within a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Seeking a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial modeling is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in private equity, venture capital, and transaction execution
  • Availability to work a 12-week internship schedule preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior investment team to structure transactions and negotiate deal terms and legal documents.
  • Support the preparation of detailed pro-forma cash flow, DCF, and development models utilizing sophisticated Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Conduct market research, analyze market data, and present findings internally to inform the investment process.
  • Coordinate due diligence review and the closing process and summarize / present findings.
  • Support the preparation of Investment Committee Memoranda and participate in Investment Committee meetings.
  • Provide support and coordination required for periodic investor reporting, capital calls, quarterly valuations, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of fund materials, including modeling various fund level structures, preparing marketing collateral, and researching peer funds in the industry.
  • Maintain contact database and log of opportunities under review.
