About The Position

AlphaEdge Investment Management, a subsidiary of United Heritage Insurance, specializes in tailored investment strategies for insurance companies, managing nearly $900 million in assets across fixed-income, equity, asset-backed, and alternative investments. The firm leverages over 20 years of experience to maximize yield returns through active portfolio management, direct investments, and strong broker relationships. AlphaEdge is seeking an Investment Accountant to support investment accounting, reporting, and financial analysis across a diverse portfolio. This role offers hands-on exposure to complex investment structures and accounting processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, solutions-driven, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• 1-3 years of accounting or finance experience
• Strong Excel and overall technical skills; ability to learn new systems quickly
• Solid understanding of accounting principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with investment accounting
• Knowledge of statutory accounting

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies within Clearwater; coordinate with client service teams to address issues across accounts
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and support the month-end close process
• Forecast daily bank and trust balances
• Assist with trade settlement and daily reconciliation processes
• Maintain and monitor mortgage loan portfolio activity
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and yearly investment schedules
• Participate in investment team meetings, conduct ad hoc investment analysis
• Collaborate cross-functionally on process improvements and operational initiatives
• Prepare and file state tax returns and research state and local tax issues
• Assist in preparing schedules for auditors and examiners
