The Investigator I/II is responsible for conducting prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, ADA accommodations, pregnancy-related accommodations, and Title IX-related matters. Job Description Typical duties include but are not limited to: Conduct intake of informal and formal complaints of discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation; recommend supportive and/or interim measures as appropriate. Conduct fact-based investigations from inception through completion, including interviews, evidence collection, credibility assessment, and preparation of investigative reports for disposition by decision makers. Partner with Human Resources, Dean of Students, Internal Audit, academic personnel, and internal colleagues to appropriately address matters brought to the OIEC office. Maintain detailed and accurate investigation notes and files in accordance with record retention guidelines while managing a high-volume caseload. Receive, review, and analyze ADA accommodation appeals and issue final decisions on behalf of the university. Facilitate pregnancy-related accommodations under applicable federal and state laws. Assist with writing and compiling required state and federal reports; track and analyze statistical data and provide reports to the designated Chief Compliance Officer. Make recommendations regarding discrimination, harassment, and Title IX related issues; assist with the identification and development of programs or initiatives to address trends or concerns on campus. Maintain a regular presence in the University community by facilitating training and programs on discrimination, harassment, and Title IX related issues. Additional Duties: Other duties as assigned. Additional Job Description Investigator I: In addition to the core responsibilities listed above, the Investigator I: Works under guidance for complex matters; collaborates with colleagues on sensitive investigations. Supports identification of trends and development of programs or initiatives. Facilitates trainings using established materials and guidance. Required Qualifications: Six (6) years of directly related full-time experience; or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Public Administration, Student Affairs, Higher Education, Business Administration, Psychology, Political Science, Legal Studies, Human Resources, or a closely related field, and two (2) years of directly related full-time experience. Professional experience in legal, regulatory, student conduct, federal/state compliance, human resources, EEO/ADA discrimination, Title IX compliance or related fields. Investigator II: In addition to performing all core responsibilities, the Investigator II: Independently leads highly sensitive, complex, and/or high-risk investigations. Collaborates with senior leadership on complex matters requiring strategic or institutional risk assessment. Prepares and submits responses to external agencies, including OCR, EEOC, and FCHR. Provides advanced analysis and recommendations to senior leaders regarding discrimination, harassment, and Title IX matters. Identifies trends and assists in developing strategic initiatives to mitigate institutional risk. Required Qualifications: Eight (8) years of directly related full-time experience; or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Public Administration, Student Affairs, Higher Education, Business Administration, Psychology, Political Science, Legal Studies, Human Resources, or a closely related field, and four (4) years of directly related full-time experience. Professional full-time experience in legal, regulatory, student conduct, federal/state compliance, human resources, EEO/ADA discrimination, Title IX compliance, or other related experience.
