The Oregon Government Ethics Commission (OGEC) is hiring a new Investigator (Compliance Specialist 2)! INVESTIGATOR (COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST 2) As an OGEC Investigator, duties include: Reviewing investigation requests/complaints alleging possible violations of Oregon’s Government Ethics Law, Lobby Law, and Public Meetings Law Evaluating and determining whether OGEC should proceed with an investigation Conducting thorough investigations into possible law violations Drafting lengthy reports outlining relevant details related to the complaint, identifying applicable statutory provisions and recommending OGEC action Assessing civil penalties for non-compliance with Oregon laws/rules Explaining Government Ethics Law, Lobby Law, and Public Meetings Law and rules Answering the public’s questions about OGEC’s jurisdiction Presenting reports to OGEC’s Commissioners at public meetings Providing written and verbal advice to public officials, lobbyists, and members of the public.
