About The Position

The incumbent will provide overall supervision to ensure that all operational goals are met. Responsible for supervising the day to day movement, storage and distribution of fresh cut products for consumers through subordinate staff. Supervises staff for the assigned work unit to ensure the proper flow of product from raw receiving through to finished goods distribution.

Requirements

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in a fast-paced environment. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Capable of working in a cold (34 degrees F) and wet environment and be willing to work weekends.
  • Ability to communicate throughout the organization in written and verbal form
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Proficiency in Process Improvement.
  • Inventory Control/Shipping/Receiving and project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments, analyze data and report out.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to be a productive team member in both formal and informal settings
  • Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to supervise direct reports through coaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, gather and understand information by all level of workers
  • 3+ years related experience
  • Prior leadership experience in a comparable environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and AS 400/ PRMS, Warehouse Management System applications, Vocollect application a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish/ Vietnamese
  • Food industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Achieve Logistics performance indicators across the department such as Inventory accuracy, reducing damage, order fill rates, productivity, and on-time dispatch perfect order percentage, case fill percentage, productivity, product rotation, line feeding efficiency, timely receipts and on-time dispatch.
  • Lead, coordinate and direct the daily activities of shift personnel engaged in the shipping and receiving of both raw product and finished goods.
  • Coordinate all systems functions supporting product movement inbound through finish goods.
  • Ensure efficient communication with all levels of organization to ensure order-fill process
  • Embrace the philosophy that recognizes that the customer is always first, people are the most important resource, and continuous improvement and change are a way of life.
  • Lead and support process improvement activities with both formal and informal teams.
  • Manage, train and develop hourly employees on Department and Company policies such as GMPs, proper Shipping, Receiving, Inventory procedures and filling out required documentation correctly. Develops hourly employees to take ownership of key measures such as yields, labor, people, and quality.
  • Address performance issues in a timely manner using consistent corrective action methodology.
  • Ensure employees take their scheduled breaks/lunches and finish their shift on time.
  • Implement logistics, manufacturing or operational programs that achieve cost and quality requirements of the company.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory expectations such as OSHA, EPA, FDA, etc.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by training personnel on safety issues, conducting safety huddles, completing safety accident and/or incident reports, and recognizing and correcting unsafe conditions or acts.
  • Create and maintain work schedules for all warehouse associates. Review Workday reports to ensure employees time keeping are accurate. Ensure employees are taking their scheduled breaks/lunches and finishing their shift on time.
  • Responsible for the interviewing and screening of potential warehouse associates in terms of experience and aptitude with operation's required power equipment.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Training requirements are defined for all positions related to food safety and quality within his/her area of responsibility.
  • Direct reports are trained to complete work assignments, evaluated for effectiveness and documented, and deemed competent to perform their jobs. When gaps are identified immediate corrective action must be taken. This includes retraining, coaching, and/or disciplinary actions - which must be documented.
  • Work assignments are communicated to associates.
  • Where the assistance of external experts is required for the development, implementation, operation or assessment of food safety within his/her area of responsibility, records of agreement or contracts defining the responsibility and authority of the external experts are maintained, as well as records of appropriate education, training, skills and experience.
  • New hire orientation is conducted, and a training matrix is developed for each area of responsibility.
  • All elements listed in FSSC Program - not only those outlined above.
  • As an individual, the incumbent must understand the Food Safety Statement, complete the required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training and display an acceptable level of competency with all Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies and training requirements. Areas of food safety training will include, but are not limited to, GMP, HACCP, Listeria, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000/Global Food Safety Policy/Food Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Some additional items will include Inbound/Outbound trailer and load inspections, FIFO/FEFO Procedures and Inbound/Outbound Seal Procedure.
  • The individual must also request additional and/or refresher training if he or she feels that it is needed to effectively perform requirements in specific areas of responsibility.
