About The Position

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving inventory accuracy and flow within the organization. This role ensures that all materials, supplies, and products are accounted for, properly stored, and readily available to support operational needs. The Inventory Specialist works closely with purchasing, operations, and warehouse teams to track stock levels, troubleshoot discrepancies, and maintain efficient inventory processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or related operations.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Sage, NetSuite).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies using logical and practical problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) as applicable.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through routine cycle counts, audits, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Receive, label, and organize incoming materials following company procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Process inventory transactions in the ERP/inventory management system (e.g., adjustments, transfers, receipts).
  • Monitor stock levels and notify appropriate personnel of shortages, overages, or obsolete items.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by reviewing documentation, transactions, and workflow issues.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Operations to support demand planning and replenish stock as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storage environment, complying with all safety and handling standards.
  • Assist with annual physical inventory counts and support process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline inventory handling, storage, or tracking procedures.
