The Inventory Specialist is vital to the daily operations of our distribution center, actively engaging in all inventory management functions to ensure accurate stock levels and efficient processes. In this role, you will own inventory accuracy, which includes performing cycle counts, running Inventory reports, correcting discrepancies and conducting root-cause analysis. Additionally, you will provide support and guidance to Warehouse Associates and Managers through collaboration with team members to optimize inventory flow, making a significant impact on our operational efficiency. Starting wage: $20/hour + based on experience Note: Famous Supply Warehouse associates will handle large products such as water heaters, furnaces and showers.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem solving
  • Experience working in a warehouse
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand on feet for majority of an 8-hour day
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • 3-5 years of experience in an inventory role
  • Able to use a computer, handheld devices and other office technology
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience
  • Building industry experience and requisite product knowledge
  • Experience using RF Scanners
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a warehouse setting

Responsibilities

  • Monitor warehouse message system and emails to address any inventory action items
  • Run and interpret Inventory reports
  • Run supplemental counts, queue counts in scanner, count immediate cycle counts and/or backorders
  • Perform adjustments (RF Scanners, cycle count, warehouse supplies, product superseded)
  • After counting disputed items, communicate through proper channels and report the information
  • Troubleshoot large dollar adjustments
  • Assist with locating missing products
  • Assist with identifying transfer orders
  • Maintain location accuracy in the building
  • Review inventory adjustment entry daily
  • Dispose of obsolete inventory as directed
  • Throughout the day, answer any phone calls and requests, assist with receiving questions, warehouse projects & tasks needed to successfully run the daily operation
  • Any other tasks & projects assigned by leadership needed to support the operation
