The inventory specialist provides support to the warehouse manager by conducting cycle counts, inventory analysis and research, and inventory updates to ensure the book inventory is correct for what is on the floor. The ideal candidate will be professional, self-starter, knowledgeable of inventory controls and practices. Additionally, the candidate must be flexible for an ever changing, fast-paced work environment and process multiple requests in a timely and efficient manner. This position is responsible for reviewing current inventory and sales trends, placing product orders, and arranging incoming freight.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily Inventory cycle counts.
  • Monitor and ensure inventory integrity by investigating the source of the discrepancy and recommending process improvements.
  • Maintain product identification and location within the system.
  • Work with other departments to resolve issues and improve upon existing procedures when needed, ensuring to keep all apprised.
  • Spot check Receiving Team process to ensure blind receiving process and proper labeling procedures.
  • Monitor inventory for proper stock rotation, near dated or expiring product; communicate with sales and operational leaders as needed.
  • Input new products into our system.
  • Assist Corporate Purchasing Team with inventory analysis and coordinate with Sales Managers to determine inventory needs and place orders as necessary.
  • Audit outgoing shipments to largest vendors (ABC/Publix/Walmart/Winn Dixie)
  • Communicate supplier out-of-stocks and other inventory issues with appropriate managers.
  • Perform vintage and misc. inventory checks for sales team.
  • Monitor driver check-in process to ensure adherence to current policies and recommending process improvements.
  • Heavily involved with monthly and quarterly inventory counts (help planning, organizing, communicating, counting, paperwork flow)
  • Data entry to track errors and breakage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
