About The Position

Hardman Signs is a national leader in architectural signage and graphics. We design, manufacture, install, and service high-impact signage solutions for commercial properties nationwide. We are seeking a dedicated Inventory Specialist to join our team in Houston and ensure the accuracy and availability of all materials and finished goods. The Inventory Specialist is an essential role responsible for the precise control and movement of materials throughout the warehouse, production floor, and shipping area. You will be the primary resource for managing stock levels, ensuring inventory accuracy through cycle counts, and coordinating with the Production and Shipping departments to guarantee a smooth flow of goods.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 1+ years of proven experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems (WMS/ERP) is strongly preferred.
  • Must be proficient with basic computer skills (data entry, email) and accurately read a tape measure.
  • Must possess or be able to quickly obtain certification for operating a forklift and/or related material handling equipment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills for discrepancy resolution, and a reliable work ethic are critical.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for prolonged periods.
  • Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse setting with exposure to dust and noise.
  • Must consistently use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily and weekly cycle counts, investigating and reconciling all discrepancies between physical counts and system records (WMS/ERP).
  • Maintain accurate inventory locations and tagging for all raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verifying counts and condition against purchase orders, and accurately inputting data into the inventory management system.
  • Organize and stock materials in designated bins and racks using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles to optimize storage space and material rotation.
  • Accurately issue components and materials to the Fabrication and Assembly teams based on work orders, ensuring timely delivery to meet production schedules.
  • Assist the Shipping department by staging finished signs and verifying final counts and readiness before loading for transport.
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure the warehouse and material storage areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with all safety standards.
