About The Position

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring material traceability, supporting uninterrupted production flow, and sustaining a clean, organized, and professional warehouse environment. This role manages inventory transactions, cycle counts, stock movements, receiving accuracy and location control while driving barcode scanning compliance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or coursework in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or materials management in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems required; SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with barcode scanning systems and warehouse location control preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze discrepancies, support root-cause investigation, and communicate effectively across functions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cycle counts, targeted audits, and full physical inventory counts to maintain high inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate shortages, overages, missing items, and inventory discrepancies; identify root causes and support corrective actions.
  • Reconcile system inventory against physical inventory and ensure timely resolution of variances.
  • Maintain accurate ERP/WMS inventory records through disciplined transaction processing.
  • Ensure all inventory is properly labeled, located, and traceable at all times.
  • Maintain bin and location accuracy and verify items are stored in the correct warehouse locations.
  • Support material identification standards including part number, description, lot or serial number, and status where applicable.
  • Monitor and improve traceability processes for inventory moving through receiving, storage, production, and shipping.
  • Receive, inspect, verify, and stock incoming material accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor inventory levels, usage trends, and reorder triggers to help prevent stockouts and production interruptions.
  • Communicate material shortages and inventory risks proactively to Purchasing, Production, and Warehouse leadership.
  • Assist with stock rotation, damaged material segregation, and obsolete inventory review.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional warehouse environment in accordance with company safety and 5S standards.
  • Ensure shelves, bins, aisles, and storage areas are clearly identified, organized, and audit-ready.
  • Support warehouse discipline by helping establish standards for labeling, storage, housekeeping, and material flow.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on warehouse organization, efficiency, and inventory control.
