This 80-year-old business has succeeded through a dedicated workforce and a commitment to support its customers and employees PURPOSE AND SCOPE The Inventory Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that the company's inventory levels are optimized to meet production demands while minimizing costs. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing inventory in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with various departments to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in inventory management or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate reports.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move inventory items up to 25lbs, stand, and walk for extended periods as required by the job

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to ensure that materials and products are available to meet production schedules.
  • Stock Control: Perform regular stock checks, cycle counts, and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy in inventory records. Then assist driving QRCQ problem solving to address root cause.
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter inventory data into the company’s ERP or inventory management system, ensuring timely updates and corrections.
  • Reorder Point Management: Track and manage reorder points to prevent stockouts or overstock situations, working closely with procurement to place orders when necessary.
  • Coordination with Departments: Work with production, procurement, and shipping/receiving departments to ensure timely availability of materials and to address any inventory-related issues.
  • Inventory Reporting: Generate and analyze inventory reports to provide insights on inventory levels, usage trends, and potential issues. This would include prework and postwork of physical inventory
  • Loss Prevention: Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies and losses, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve inventory management processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Role will work closely with inventory and logistics manager on key projects related to strategic initiatives.
  • Compliance: Ensure all inventory activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
