About The Position

An Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory records and driving timely execution of manufacturing orders. This role involves entering data into the operating system, verifying product movement, and performing inventory counts aligned with production schedules. Key tasks include keying manufacturing orders, tracking labor assignments, processing transfers, and reconciling finished goods and raw materials. The inventory specialist operates directly within warehouse operations and ensures inventory precision through cycle counts, adjustments, and documentation. The position requires coordination with warehouse teams and management to monitor product movement, resolve discrepancies, and align inventory procedures with production objectives. Clerical tasks such as filing invoices and maintaining inventory documentation, as well as carrying out annual inventory processes and physical count procedures, are also part of the role. The specialist must apply advanced math skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet applications, and operate standard office equipment and warehouse systems efficiently. The role demands a strong work ethic, task ownership, reliability, and clear communication with team members and management. Work hours may extend based on production demands and period closings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of six months warehouse and inventory experience
  • Experience working with a manufacturing environment operating system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet applications
  • Strong math skills, including percentages and basic calculations
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and operational procedures
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute written instructions and documentation

Responsibilities

  • Receive finished goods and returns of raw materials in alignment with production activity
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory audits based on current manufacturing orders
  • Maintain inventory records and enforce adjustments to ensure stock accuracy
  • Work directly with warehouse teams to monitor product movement and resolve discrepancies
  • Coordinate with management to align inventory procedures with production objectives
  • Execute clerical tasks such as filing invoices and maintaining inventory documentation
  • Carry out annual inventory processes and physical count procedures
  • Apply advanced math skills including percentages, addition, subtraction, and division
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet applications
  • Operate standard office equipment and warehouse systems efficiently
  • Complete daily tasks before end of shift and adapts schedule based on production needs
  • Demonstrate reliability and consistency in meeting deadlines and maintaining data integrity
  • Take appropriate actions within established guidelines to support team performance
  • Receive direction and maintains a focused, results-driven work environment
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and/or sit frequently or throughout the shift
  • Communicate clearly and directly with team members and management to resolve inventory issues
  • Operate effectively in varied temperature environments for extended periods as needed
