About The Position

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the project management and business services fields as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy (DOE) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratory. Qualified applicants must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the DOE.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory management, asset management, or supply chain operations
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Administers policies governing procurement, maintenance, or disposal of assets.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, i.e., Excel.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
  • Pre-employment Drug Screen - External applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
  • Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.
  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the facilities management and stakeholders to identify all material that can be excessed from space.
  • Develop and recommend strategies to improve processes.
  • Develop a plan and coordinate the cleaning and organization of the space during the categorization process for all usable parts that will be included in the inventory.
  • Develop a floor plan for the satellite location with recommendations for inventory storage.
  • Submit required work request for installation of new infrastructure.
  • Ensure timely completion of any new installations.
  • Identify, inventory, and stow all usable parts.
  • Ensure all usable parts identified and inventoried, collected data has been inputted into the proper tracking system (Excel, SAP, etc.)
  • Import all collected data into system for maintaining inventory.
  • Implement a method/application of managing inventory.
  • Provide recommendations to leadership influencing asset utilization, and operational planning.
