About The Position

The Manager, Quality & Inventory supports and maintains development, improvement, implementations, and maintaining accuracy and records to ensure the inventory and quality in the warehouse meets local and global DSV standards.  The Manager will monitor inventory levels, product movement, control/isolates non-conforming product mix which facilitates efficient order fulfillment.  This position will also be responsible for quality activities to support the warehouse including, but not limited to receiving, shipping, and other related functions.  This includes tracking, investigating and correcting OS&D (over, short and damage).  The Manager will oversee the functions performed by inventory and quality associates and other such staff.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred 5 years’ experience in a medium to large warehouse in a management capacity.
  • 2 years’ experience as a Quality Manager.
  • 2 years’ experience as a Inventory Manager.
  • Preferred knowledge of ISO, HACCP, 21CFR, FDA, SQF
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months that can range from mild to moderate.
  • Strong computer skills and MS Office Applications.

  • Intermediated level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products.

  • Ability to develop work instructions, procedures, and visual aids to support the operation.
  • Work extra hours as dictated by business needs.
  • Train and/or certified in common inventory management, methodologies and tools like six-sigma and lean.
  • Ability to develop and sustain effective and energized working relationships with leaders to influence and align people at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, and support project team members to learn and master continuous improvement concepts and skills in an indirect supervisory relationship.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be analytical and result orientated.
  • Must be able to foster continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Input data accurately into WMS.
  • Efficiently stack and store product in appropriate area.
  • Maintains and enhances client relationship.
  • Develops and implement space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and service standards.
  • Develops and monitors the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards.
  • Develops and implements an effective product locator system and update as necessary.
  • Delegate work and responsibility to team members.
  • Oversee scheduled shifts, evaluate work of team members.
  • Analyzes daily cycle counts and reconciles any discrepancies between physical count and perpetual record.
  • Audit the daily error report and make corrections as necessary.
  • Analyze daily and publish monthly data from WMS reports indicating monthly and year-to-date totals of cycle count dollar variances.
  • Analyze stock change in/outs transactions on material for validity to the product structure.
  • Analyze miscellaneous receipts and issues and take corrective action as appropriate.
  • Leader for physical inventory.
  • Gain complete knowledge of the on-line inventory audit trail to facilitate any research toward corrective action.
  • Drives process improvements and prepares monthly report signifying major problems and updates on projects and assignments.
  • Assist with associate relations and training.
  • Audit warehouse daily for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles and rules.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area and promote safety among team members.
  • Transmit e-mails to DSV representatives and clients (when required), write corrective/preventative actions, complete reports for operations manager, follow-up with attendance reports, write counseling memos and write/perform evaluations.  All communication must be accurate and professional.
  • Develop and maintain site QMS documentation such as procedures, work instructions, visuals.
  • Make recommendations with regards to procedures, standards to maintain process quality.
  • Support all client related and applicable QMS requirements.
  • Coordinate all requirements related to the 5 Star Site Certification Program.
  • Responsible for managing requirements related to Quality & Training.
  • Ensure site is compliant with applicable GMP standards and FDA regulations.
  • Establish & Maintain “quality standards” for all critical functions supporting the operation.
  • Train site management and employees on the QMS components and requirements.
  • Serve as the primary contact for any external or internal audits, with development of any resulting action plans.
  • Assist with coordination of recalls, hold notifications, stop-shipments, etc., in consultation with customer management.
  • Compile and submit assigned daily, weekly, and monthly reports to site and clients as needed.
  • Sponsor the site Training Program including coordinating training documentation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to achieve site and client satisfaction.
