About The Position

This is an opportunity to support front line workers that protect the environment and keep clean water infrastructure operating optimally. In this role, you will purchase and provide supply support to achieve strategic and real-time objectives for one of the region's most complex wastewater treatment systems. King County Wastewater Treatment Division inventory purchasing specialists manages over 15,000 unique parts in our secured stores to be available when requested and provides procurement services to the trades (crafts) for all other non-inventory items. This position is responsible for overall material readiness of all equipment at the Renton WWTP through the procurement and dispensing of critical spare parts and materials. The Inventory Management work group is small and diverse. We take on big challenges and always work to promote trust. We rely on each other for support, advice, and comradery. Requirements

Knowledge of basic warehousing equipment and supplies
Knowledge of heavy duty and industrial parts
Skill in the use of personal computers, word processors and database management software
Skill in operating forklift and other material handling equipment
Skill in interpreting and evaluating manuals and catalogs

Responsibilities

Shipping and receiving
Inventory management
Maintain computerized internal purchasing/inventory records and information system
Work with AP to resolve discrepancies and billing for accuracy
Purchasing goods and services
