About The Position

The Inventory Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing inventory control operations and leading training and onboarding initiatives within the warehouse. This role ensures inventory accuracy, shrink reduction, safety compliance, and operational excellence while developing associates through structured onboarding, equipment training, and ongoing performance coaching. The supervisor partners closely with warehouse leadership to drive service level performance, continuous improvement, and a strong safety culture.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Warehouse and/or manufacturing leadership experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Strong data collection and analytical skills; proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • High attention to detail with strong task execution and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to groups.
  • Familiarity with warehouse associate management processes such as scheduling, payroll time and attendance, and vacation approvals.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with tractor-trailer or heavy-duty equipment industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Inventory Control team members, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and performance standards are met.
  • Oversee inventory management processes including cycle counts, inventory accuracy audits, shrink reduction, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Monitor inventory and fulfillment reports; analyze data and drive key service level metrics.
  • Identify root causes of inventory issues and communicate findings to leadership with recommended corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps and operational risks.
  • Lead onboarding and training for all new associates, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations, inventory processes, and company standards.
  • Deliver equipment and safety training, including safety videos, written testing, hands-on instruction, and certification tracking.
  • Ensure proper PPE usage and reinforce safe work practices at all times.
  • Communicate daily responsibilities and performance expectations to new hires, ensuring full role ownership prior to department assignment.
  • Serve as a mentor to coordinators and area leaders, supporting their development into future leadership roles.
  • Promote and uphold all safety standards, including OSHA and internal Quality Assurance programs.
  • Conduct daily safety walkthroughs and collect and review equipment checklist forms.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with warehouse leadership and shift supervisors to ensure efficient material flow, process optimization, and operational hygiene.
  • Assist with evaluation and implementation of revised procedures as directed by management.
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Directly supervises Inventory Control team members.
  • Responsible for associate development, coaching, retraining, and performance management.
  • Works collaboratively with shift and department supervisors to motivate and develop associates across the facility.
