Based in Milwaukee, WI, we operate the largest fresh 48 state LTL consolidation pool with more than 100+ trucks, and offer multiple sites with cooler, air-conditioned storage, distribution, and cross-docking services. General Position Overview The Inventory Manager is directly responsible for the overall performance of the Inventory team and Inventory control.   • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and all levels of management
  • Bachelor’s degree or Business Management degree preferred
  • Experience operating a stand-up forklift
  • Previous experience managing Inventory teams in a warehouse environment
  • Previous experience with RF controlled inventory systems

Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance and comply with all safety, food safety, food defense, regulatory, and company policies.
  • Ensure fair, professional treatment of employees and help develop a high-performing team.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, staffing, and disciplinary actions, monitor attendance, breaks, and lunches.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with customers and team members.
  • Use data to prioritize and assign daily merchant care tasks/tickets; track progress and ensure timely, accurate resolution.
  • Resolve customer issues (OS&D); collaborate directly with leaders.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy, manage inventory counts, resolve discrepancies, and identify risks that may lead to inventory loss.
  • Maintain inventory KPIs
  • Maintain, facilitate and report weekly our Quarterly and EOY inventory cycle counts.
  • Produce weekly reports and provide feedback on process improvements, tools, and best practices to enhance inventory control and efficiency.
  • Drive process, performance, workflow, and customer-service improvements; ensure benchmarking standards are met.
  • Ensure completion of accessorial charge documentation and adherence to all policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy work environment by enforcing standards and complying with legal regulations.
  • Serve as backup for recall leadership.
  • Provide additional shift coverage as needed for staff and leadership PTO.
  • Foster a positive, value-driven culture that encourages open communication and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee inventory quality control, managing QA holds and ensuring all inventory follows established QA processes and compliance standards.
  • Responsible for velocity slotting, to include specific customer pallet position adjustment based on seasonality and needs
  • Assist in Recall and Mock recall exercises
  • OS & D and claim investigation and resolution
  • Document root causes of Inventory issues
  • Work with other management and warehouse team to resolve all issues identified through corrective actions, coaching and retraining as needed
  • Identify WMS system issues and work with IT for resolution
  • Participate in off-hours meetings and training
  • Train Inventory team members as needed on inventory related processes and tasks
  • Nurture a safety minded culture
  • Participate in incident investigations as needed
  • Maintain high sanitation standards
  • Direct supervision of Inventory team
  • Providing productive feedback to subordinates and establishing development plans
  • Initiates and administers appropriate disciplinary actions when necessary.
