About The Position

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking Inventory Management Support, Driver with strong knowledge of transportation and hazardous material shipment. The candidate must have the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). The candidate will communicate within and outside of their function to ensure the smooth transportation and management of inventory. Essential Functions: Operates vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals Assists with loading/unloading of goods and materials, using specialized equipment when warranted; unloads empty skids and returns all equipment to designated area Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork in SHIP! database; delivers documentation to PHS&T task lead or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete Reports maintenance malfunctions in a timely manner Arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns Uses Microsoft Office to create and submit travel plans Performs other shipping, transportation, and receiving related duties as assigned Must be able to sit for prolonged periods in a vehicle/trailer cab Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state DOT regulations Must pass DOT physical Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time Must be able to travel frequently Must be able to obtain a commercial drivers license up to a Commercial Driver's License

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly required
  • Class A (CDL A) and HAZMAT certification

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points
  • Must have strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, shipping database)
  • Ability to remain focused in a busy environment
