YOUR ROLE: The Inventory control specialist is responsible for maintaining the inventory database/count, cycle count, investigation of discrepencies, inventory adjustments, data entry and providing scheduled and ad hoc reports to management and the customer.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in an operations or distribution environment with specific experience in inventory management
  • Must have experience with WMS
  • A College Diploma is required, with a background in logistics/supply chain will be a plus
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with customers and employees.
  • Must possess problem solving, conflict resolution, decision making and planning/organizing skills.
  • Excellent written/oral communication and excellent listening skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and excellent time management and computer skills.
  • Must be creative and possess the ability to think outside the box.
  • Must be able to work afternoons and nights
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and development and maintain the in-house inventory management program
  • Support the daily, weekly, monthly cycle count program for the site ensuring compliance to SLA requirements
  • Support the Replenishment/Slotting team
  • Identify and assist with resolving inventory discrepancies
  • Assist with planning and undertaking periodic (annual) wall-to-wall physical inventory count
  • Generate and analyze reports from the inventory management system for management
  • Follow company policies/procedures and Quality/safety/HR related policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring daily reporting of operational/quality requirements are completed.
  • Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions
  • Performing special projects as required by the Inventory Control Supervisor.
