About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring business processes that affect physical and perpetual inventory in accordance with accounting best practices; validating our inventory control system by performing cycle counts in accordance with our calendar and work instructions; problem-solving for variances against physical and perpetual; and working with the process owner to improve timeliness, completeness, and accuracy in reporting.

Requirements

  • High School education or GED.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse environments.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and ratio.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ERP software and Microsoft Office software.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP experience is a plus
  • Cost Accounting experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of our perpetual inventory quantities on a daily basis by cycle counting items in our inventory system.
  • Propose ways to maintain and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Research and reconcile variances as they occur.
  • Analyze information about count discrepancies to determine the root cause.
  • Record findings in the cycle count database.
  • Responsible for helping maintain the integrity and accuracy of inventory, quantity, location, etc.
  • Move materials in the shop for the purpose of cycle counting using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Be able to use equipment to assist in the movement of product (overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc).
  • Use computers to process paperwork in an ERP system and Microsoft Office.
  • Work toward a goal of greater than 95% inventory record accuracy.
  • Assist in driving an accurate inventory culture.
  • All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned.
