As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring optimal stock levels, and supporting efficient supply chain operations. This role is critical in minimizing inventory discrepancies, improving inventory turnover, and supporting operational excellence. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required or 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, ERP systems, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience working with carriers, freight scheduling, or inventory management systems.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment, preferably within food or beverage production.
  • Experience with SQL or ERP reporting tools (e.g. Power BI).
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and planning abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills (email, phone, and in-person).
  • Proficiency with systems such as Business Central, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and Smartsheet.
  • High sense of urgency with the ability to drive tasks and projects to completion.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, routing, and freight documentation (BOLs, packing lists, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures for the site.
  • Support the Inventory Health process by coordinating cross-functional reviews, identifying SLOB and excess inventory risks, and driving follow-up actions to improve inventory quality and reduce write-offs.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate stock without overstocking.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in collaboration with warehouse, production, finance, and procurement teams.
  • Utilize inventory management systems (e.g., ERP software) to track and update stock movements.
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
  • Train staff on inventory control processes and systems as needed.
  • Review production inputs and outputs and ensure they are properly accounted for through the manufacturing process.
  • Work with accounting on all adjustments and inventory issues and complete all inventory investigations.
  • Communicate with stakeholders sharing reports, updates, and analysis to aid in decision making.
  • Collaborate with production, operations, quality control, warehouse and other staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
