This role provides IT support at our PCS facility in Tempe, AZ, with a primary focus on deploying both new and refurbished hardware to support IT technicians across the country. You will play a key part in ensuring that all equipment is properly prepared, configured, and tracked as it moves through the facility. Accurate inventory management is essential, as you will be responsible for the intake and distribution of all parts and devices, including failed components and newly purchased equipment. In addition to supporting national technician operations, the position offers exposure to a wide range of technologies and the opportunity to participate in various IT projects, giving you hands-on experience that will broaden your technical skill set. Working in this role also means becoming part of a collaborative environment where you can learn the full scope of store support operations, connect with fellow technicians, and contribute to the success of our best‑in‑class retail grocery stores. The position is based full-time in Tempe, AZ, and plays an important role in supporting technology operations across the organization.

Requirements

  • Excellent, customer service and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather important information to resolve high pressure issues/situations.
  • Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively present technical information and tailor responses for customer understanding.
  • Working knowledge of IT hardware, installation models and Windows, MS Office, and related applications.
  • Maintain equipment inventory controls and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and be a strong collaborative partner in a matrixed organization.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, day, evening and overnight, as well as on-call support capacity.
  • Strong sense of urgency, business ethics, dependability and follow through.
  • High school graduate, BA/BS degree preferred, or 3+ year's technical/training/hardware certifications preferred.
  • Information Technology project implementation exposure with 5+ year's technical systems and 2+ years of technical support experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience with retail store systems, technology systems and hardware preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience with installation and configuration of desktop and peripheral technology preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Asset Management tools.
  • Working knowledge of database input.
  • Experience with equipment handling.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming and outgoing equipment (devices and parts).
  • Ensure accurate receiving of item quantities against purchase orders.
  • Ensure highly accurate Asset collection in Asset Tracking tool.
  • Interface with I.T. Finance to report Purchase Order receiving and discrepancies.
  • Accurately move or transfer inventory utilizing the Fishbowl database.
  • Maintain Fishbowl Parts/device database.
  • Organize label and stock equipment according to standards.
  • Perform accurate one-for-one exchanges with field staff.
  • Regularly interact with Field Technicians and key Safeway personnel regarding order fulfillment.
  • Able to accurately, quickly and safely pack and ship in a very high-volume environment.
  • Able to quickly receive and audit incoming orders.
  • Process requests and invoices through material, inventory and financial electronic systems; pull physical inventory as required.
  • Provide support to customers and vendors to include placing orders, shipping items, coordinating delivery schedules, resolving problems and providing product information
  • Assist in periodic physical inventories
  • Complete and maintain reports on inventory items
  • Collect and disseminate information with regard to project and work assignments
  • Accurately import/export Safeway-inventoried I.T. items to pertinent Safeway locations outside the U.S
