About The Position

Lifetime Brands is looking for machine operators to work in our brand new Distribution Center located in Hagerstown, MD. Be part of this exciting new operation by working with the Maintenance Manager in labeling the new racking system in our state of the art facility. For the first few months, the primary focus will be on making certain that the distribution center is ready to receive our products. This will entail using a scissor lift to label racks in the newly built space while being up to a maximum of 35 feet off the ground. Once the distribution center is operational, your job responsibilities will be as follows: Overview: A Material Handler II operates various light industrial vehicles and/or RF devices to perform material handling assignments such as picking bulk orders, loading/unloading, and shipping/receiving of merchandise.

Requirements

  • Education: High School or equivalent
  • Experience: 1 -4 years experience operating Light Industrial equipment.
  • Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:Certification on: Electric Jack, sit-down forklift, and/or Order Picker and/or Reach.
  • Working Conditions:Distribution Center. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, pull and push for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Other Skills/Abilities: Ability to satisfactorily complete Equipment driving training program. Must be able to listen and communicate effectively and have the ability to follow specific instructions. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with WMS a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate powered light industrial trucks to move product to and from designated areas in the warehouse
  • Follow daily procedures & protocols as set forth in job orientations and training.
  • Review orders and place them within the appropriate areas as directed by the vehicle mounted computer manifest.
  • Must be able to operate a scissor lift at a height of 35 feet above the group to label racks.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance checks before each use and complete the inspection card.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties i.e. removal of empty skids and stacking thereof in designated areas.
  • At the end of each shift return the equipment to the correct charging station and prepare for daily overnight charge.
  • Follow all safety regulations required by OSHA and Company.
  • Other duties as assigned.
