About The Position

The manufacturing inventory manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory, including tracking, work order fulfillment and distribution to ensure optimal stock accuracy and support production efficiency within the Dunbar location. Key duties involve managing staff, implementing and improving inventory systems, coordinating with other departments, and analyzing data to prevent shortages or surpluses.

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration or industrial engineering is often required, though experience can sometimes substitute.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory management: Oversee tracking, receipt, storage, and distribution of all inventories to maintain accurate records and ensure optimal stock levels.
  • FIFO inventory process flows need to be developed, implemented and matured for all Dunbar components and assemblies.
  • Work Order management: Oversee the fulfillment of all workorders released by the planning team, while ensuring proper inventory levels and item types are correct.
  • BOM management: Oversee item creation and change management through all avenues of the bill of materials for the manufacturing environment.
  • Operational efficiency: Implement and improve inventory control systems and procedures to align with operational needs and reduce costs, shortages, or surpluses.
  • Team leadership: Manage, train, and hire inventory control staff, and create policies and procedures for safety and process efficiency.
  • Data and reporting: Conduct regular audits and physical (cycle) counts, reconcile discrepancies, and prepare reports on cost analysis both present and historically to track trends for all Dunbar companies.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with other departments like production, purchasing, and planning to ensure inventory levels support production schedules and shipping demands.
  • All other duties as assigned.
