About The Position

The Inventory Control Manager demonstrates high level leadership skills and the ability to self-develop, teach and mentor the Inventory Control Department. Possesses high character and communicates well with the Executive team, Clients, and OPS leaders. Manages and coordinates Inventory activities to ensure efficient Inventory Control operations are following DCL’S QWI and Clients Business Rules requirements.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures
  • Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 40 lbs. at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment where temperature is affected by weather conditions
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Must have good manual dexterity and able to do repetitive hand motions
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination
  • 5+ years of progressive materials/warehouse/ Inventory Control experience or equivalent leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong people skills.
  • Strong inventory management control ability.
  • Excellent problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of computerized manufacturing systems (i.e., Oracle, E1, Warehouse MRP)
  • Excel, Word and Microsoft Office ability.
  • BA degree preferred, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Industry knowledge in 3PL and experience in fulfillment ranging from Receiving, RMA, Assembly, Warehouse, and Shipping.

  • JD Edwards E1 System experiences a plus.
  • Forklift Certified Trained (Order Picker, Reach Forklift), Turret is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to travel as applicable by business needs.
  • Ability to communicate well with the local site leaders.
  • Expert in conducting meetings in Power Point format with high Inventories Level data.
  • Ensure correct workload planning for materials, inventory, and warehouse and receiving staff.
  • Responsible for supervision, appraising performance, training & development of IC staffing.
  • Oversee and direct material movements in multiple locations, multiple tasks, cycle count, safety stock, kitting, and storage utilization.
  • Coordinate with Customer Support and other internal departments to ensure adequate supply and efficient movement of materials to meet Production & Distribution schedules.
  • Take ownership of JD Edwards E1 System Inventory Control vertical.
  • Supply knowledge to other departments in inventory, purchasing, work orders and sales orders.
  • Establish, monitor, and audit operational procedures for verification of incoming shipments, managing and disposition of merchandise, keeping warehouse inventory accurately by developing best Inventory Control Practices.
  • Develop audits and monitor cycle count system program, and Inventory Levels system variance investigations from Inbounds through Outbounds.
  • Serve as a primary interface with customers and relate suppliers on materials matters and issues.
  • Improve/develop new Inventory Control processes àCycle Counts à aging inventory àfast- and slow-moving inventory à Dexory Inventory Scanning.
  • Maintain integrity of Inventory Control QWI. Train, document and implement in conjunction with QWI processes.
  • Maintain Inventory Control floor organized, safe & clean among staff. Continually ensure equipment and all safety measures are in place. All Inventory Control staff have the required safety training in OPS and with MHE. Promptly address safety issues and ensure all processes/procedures are following OSHA standards. Audit processes and procedures for processes compliance & quality.
  • Proactively review processes, find potential problems, and supply recommendations to improve the inventory accuracy.
  • Aid in recruiting, hiring, and training an inventory team.
  • Perform and conduct cycle count audits.
  • Research all inventory variances.
  • Create Inventory Control Dashboards.
  • Analyze data and supply details – “If you can measure it, you can change it”!
  • Coordinate Year End Physical Inventory for Clients.
  • Manage IC Supervisor, Coordinators, and staff.
  • Project Management.
  • Teach, Develop, and Mentor the Inventory Staff in becoming Best in Class with Inventory Control methodology and best practices.
  • Develop Pareto Graphs and process from cycle count lessons learned.
  • Create DILO for IC staff.
  • Generate daily IC goals and set up the next day’s workload by providing EOS and SOS Reports.
  • Abel to create a 30, 60, 90 days Inventory Control Plan upon hire.
  • Must be a leader with a mindset of Boots on the ground.
  • Energetic to manage the 5s for the Inventory Control Department.
  • Conduct the LV Inventory Control daily meeting by gathering and uploading data to the Dashboard.
  • Adheres to 5S Standards
  • Maintain compliance to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards
  • Perform other job responsibilities, as necessary and/or assigned
