About The Position

The Inventory Control Coordinator at Materion is responsible for the overall management of inventory. Key components of this role include the posting, tracking, and issuing of material to production orders in a manufacturing setting. This position is critical for the success of the operation, acting as the gatekeeper for keeping production orders flowing. The coordinator will also maintain spreadsheet logs, support documentation needs for processing inventory, prepare materials for transfer to outside vendors, assist the supply chain team, monitor stockroom safety, and provide support to shipping/receiving. The role involves frequent manual lifting and maneuvering of raw materials up to 45 pounds, and respirator use is required for issuing certain materials.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Strong attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and short correspondence
  • Ability to write standard documentation
  • Ability to communicate with other employees to share information and solve problems
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and convert in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute percent
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology (U.S. citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee, a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain spreadsheet logs of returned PM for refine process
  • Support need for gaining additional documentation or needed information (analysis, etc) to properly process into inventory
  • Prepare material being transferred to outside vendors for Ingot ‘hipping’
  • Provide assistance to the supply chain team identifying and locating special materials
  • Monitor neatness and stockroom safety
  • Assist shipping/receiving and needed
  • Issue and weigh out material and delivering to the proper work center
  • Review production orders for the accuracy of needed material
  • Identify variances, where present and communicate those to the necessary people
  • Pull material and perform ‘goods issue’ transactions prior to production handling
  • Expedite and rush orders as applicable
  • Evaluate, identify, sort, weigh material returned daily
  • Maintain data in SAP and perform return transaction, etc.
  • Maintain spreadsheet logs of returned PM for refine process
  • Physically prepare PM & non-PM scrap materials for refine/reclaim (drums, barrels, bags, pack slips)
  • Perform weekly and monthly cycle counts
  • Perform annual physical Inventory tasks and counts
  • Locate newly received materials into proper locations via material type
  • Provide assistance to other functional groups within the factory identifying and locating special materials
  • Use fork truck equipment (onboard training & certification to be provided)
  • Manage internal actions required by the department as needed
  • Be responsible for maintaining the appropriate levels of inventory on specific items
  • Other duties to be assigned as required
