About The Position

The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for strategic material planning and supply chain coordination. This role ensures the timely availability of critical inventory to maintain continuous operations at the Copper World Mine while optimizing stock levels and minimizing capital investment. This role will be located at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson near Sahuarita, Arizona.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Professional in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Experience in material planning and supply chain coordination within a mining or industrial environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong knowledge of SAP ERP Materials module and data integrity standards.
  • Effective demonstration of good working knowledge of modern safety systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized knowledge in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (highly desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze material requirements to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure operational continuity.
  • Manage stock replenishment cycles based on minimum and safety levels to prevent impacts on maintenance or production schedules.
  • Perform proactive inventory audits to identify low-turnover, obsolete, or redundant stock and recommend disposal strategies.
  • Maintain the SAP ERP Materials module to ensure data integrity and strict compliance with internal corporate procedures.
  • Optimize and manage the Copper World Materials Catalog, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate standards.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions and material availability issues.
  • Ensure all professional activities comply with Hudbay policies regarding Environmental Protection, Occupational Health and Safety, Human Rights, and Global Anti-Corruption.
  • Comply with the corporate Code of Ethics and international standards, including the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
  • Promote and participate in training initiatives related to safety, environmental stewardship, and community relations.
  • Take prime responsibility for ensuring work is conducted within all required safety procedures and processes.
