About The Position

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for maintaining inventory and stock for all supplies and equipment related to the clinical function of the department. This includes monitoring the Pyxis automated supply station system to ensure timely and accurate delivery of supplies necessary for patient care. The assistant generates all purchase requisitions for stock and non-stock supplies and equipment, researches capitol equipment requests, and obtains quotes and specification sheets from vendors. They also manage reusable and disposable instrumentation for procedure rooms, trauma rooms, and the pediatric area, and work closely with Bio-Medical Engineering to ensure all equipment inspections are up to date and functioning properly. Performs duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School or GED.
  • 1-2 years related work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral & written), interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Knowledge of patient care supplies and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Emergency Department work flow

Responsibilities

  • Places orders via the system to maintain par levels of supplies, stock and non-stock.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform all assigned tasks as per WUH policy and procedure.
  • Maintains open communication with supervisor to facilitate resolution of concerns or problems with inventory. Demonstrates ability to set priorities.
  • Ensures prompt delivery of items to appropriate personnel and area.
  • Processes orders via the system in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes appropriate communication in all interactions; demonstrates proper telephone etiquette.
  • Completes and maintains proper paperwork for the repair and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
