About The Position

An Inventory Control and Quality Assurance Manager (ICQA Manager) within VGM Fulfillment is responsible for inventory management, movement, quality standards, and controls for all VGM warehouse locations and facilities. With a focus on optimizing inventory accuracy, reducing shrinkage, and supporting overall supply chain efficiency to include ensuring inventory is tracked and managed from delivery of inventory to site locations to delivery to patient, the manager will develop and implement departmental plans to ensure accurate inventory levels, efficient storage, and timely replenishment across all warehouses and distribution centers. As ICQA manager, it is important that you have an expert understanding and knowledge of all outbound, inbound, inventory, and quality activities affecting the business and its operations. This role is responsible for departmental and applicable key performance indicators [KPIs]. The ability to effectively lead a team while ensuring efficient and effective inventory management procedures are implemented and practiced in each warehouse facility is imperative to success. Functions of the Inventory Manager role will include operating a forklift, reach truck, or electric pallet jack. Operation of this equipment is considered safety-sensitive falls within the parameters of VGM Fulfillment’s Drug-free Workplace Policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field strongly preferred, or equivalent education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing inventory logistics within the warehousing and distribution industry
  • Experience developing complex and strategic supply chain management plans, processes and procedures across multiple locations
  • Proficient in inventory management systems
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office 365 products, specifically Dynamics 365 (D365)
  • Ability to enforce and uphold VGM policies and procedures
  • Ability to develop, influence, and coach direct and indirect reports
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize key department initiatives
  • Ability to delegate, follow up, and hold themselves and others accountable
  • Ability to understand and speak to departmental KPIs
  • Demonstrate exemplary verbal and written communication skills
  • Be willing and adapt to change to support business objectives
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility 75% of the workday
  • Ability to lift, push, and slide product and equipment typically weighing up to 15lbs, and some weighing up to 30lbs
  • Ability to react quickly and move quickly to various locations throughout the building as needed by the operation
  • At least 50% of daily time dedicated to being “on the floor” available to assist associates and other personnel
  • Strict adherence to all physical safety standards
  • Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory management plans, controls, policies, and procedures
  • Manage inventory levels across all locations, ensuring regular cycle counts and audits occur
  • Oversee warehouse inventory storage, quality controls and standards, continuously seeking opportunities to improve and streamline inventory movement and organization
  • Ensure efficient inventory management and accurate quality of the movement inventory across all warehouses and distribution centers
  • Create, uphold, and document standard operating procedures for inventory management
  • Maintain thorough understanding of standard operating procedures and ensure ability to answer any questions relating to standard procedures
  • Monitor aggregate inventory levels and ensure accurate inventory records in the system
  • Collaborate with supply chain and other cross-functional teams to ensure inventory accuracy and tracking
  • Continuously identify areas for improvement, creating and implementing process improvements as needed to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and areas for improvement, reporting to leadership regularly
  • Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to align inventory levels with demand forecasts
  • Collaborate with transportation and warehouse team members to maintain seamless operations and aggregate inventory levels
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for leading and developing assigned team members, inclusive of completing annual reviews, weekly timecards, and any time off requests
  • Develop team members through consistent feedback, performance managing as needed and in collaboration with manager and HR
  • Allocate resources and labor as needed to meet department KPIs and goals
  • Enforce department-related incentive programs as approved by operations and finance leadership
  • Operate material handling devices like forklifts, follow safety procedures, maintain precise records of all product movements, and implement quality control measures
  • Maintain compliance, safety, and quality standards by ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Act as a primary point of contact for site safety initiatives, taking lead to cascade objectives to the team and act on safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards and complete all necessary documentation
  • Lead by example in following safety protocols and encouraging reporting of safety concerns
  • Train employees on operational, inventory, and quality standards, procedures, and protocols
  • Communicate regularly with and report on team performance to leadership
